Another California crisis: Unemployment fund facing $7.4 billion deficit (San Jose Mercury News)

To keep benefit checks coming amid record unemployment, California has had to reach into Uncle Sam's pockets for $4.7 billion and counting. But the state must return what it borrows by 2011 '” or pay hundreds of millions in interest payments.
